The Designers Walk
Seven local designers will occupy the designers walk and be available to give consultations to visitors. The walk will be kicked off with a Q & A segment Thursday evening. The area is in association with Mary Taggart and Ottawa at Home Magazine who will be doing a feature on each of the designers and their role at the show in the fall issue of Ottawa At Home magazine.
With over 25 years of experience in Interior Design and décor Catherine Pulcine has designed and renovated hundreds of kitchens and bathrooms. Her primary focus is residential. Her team has worked in over 6,000 homes in the Ottawa area.
As an award-winning designer and Decorating Den franchisee, Catherine’s business has been named Decorating Den’s Canadian Franchise of the year five years in a row and has been in the Chairman’s Circle for top 10 selling franchises in North America for the same period.

Catherine is a design expert offering her expertise through a variety of media as well as being a guest lecturer at Algonquin College.
Dean was born and raised in Ottawa. He graduated from the Interior Design, advanced program at Algonquin College in 2006. Dean is an award-winning designer and has been working in the design industry for over 10 years. His day to day at Astro is working with clients and their projects. He oversees every aspect of the design project from concept, creative ideas, pricing, ordering and final execution.
Deans passion for travel, art and music inspires his work. His design philosophy stems from the idea that a well-designed home is much more than workable space. He believes that a home reflects its owner and the décor should speak to this. Dean brings individual personality into his spaces using colour and pattern with rooms that stand the test of time.
Award winning Designer and owner of Westyle Interior Design, Lisa Poirier has over 16 years of experience in the design field. Her passion, creativity, professionalism and expertise have established a strong reputation in the design industry.
An honours graduate of the Interior Design Advanced program at Algonquin College in 2003, Lisa was the recipient of several achievement awards as well as the ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) award for academic excellence.
After successfully passing her NCIDQ (National Certification for Interior Design Qualification) examinations in 2007, Lisa became a fully registered member of ARIDO and maintains her membership through the continuing education program.
Staying current to the continual changes in the industry and on top of the latest design trends, Lisa creates dynamic solutions for any design challenge.
Recently Lisa received an NKBA Design Award of Excellence for one of her amazing kitchens.
Sarah Kidder always strives to give her clients truly unique, customized spaces. She is known for her rare ability to work within any design style, and her brave use of colour, pattern, and texture.
With over 13 years’ experience in the Ottawa design industry, Sarah has worked on countless residential, small commercial, and corporate projects, giving each one an original look reflective of those living, or working, in the space.
Sarah, a formally trained decorator, is a 7-times consecutive winner of the HomeStars “Best Of” Award, an award based on stellar customer service. Most recently, her designs have won three NKBA Design Excellence Awards.

Jennifer McGahan is passionate about design, and the way that good design can help your life flow seamlessly, create order, and provide serenity. She describes her design aesthetic as classic and understated modern- elegance. This look is achieved by strict adherence to simplicity without pretense. Jennifer started her residential design business ten years ago after sharpening her renovation skills on her investment properties. She has since grown her business to a team of four, and offers architectural drawings, full project management services, and licensed, skilled trades who can handle any residential project regardless of size and scope.
Susan Bryson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and studied Interior Design at Algonquin College in Ottawa. She has studied visual art at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Avenue Road Art, and the Ottawa School of Art. Passionate about creating beautiful design Susan’s signature style combines elegance with a chic, modern sensibility. Her design sense has been inspired and greatly influenced by her cosmopolitan background as a fashion model, extensive international travel, and many years living in Europe and Japan. Susan’s interiors exude a sophisticated and stylish aesthetic with a classic and timeless quality. Rooms are at once show-stopping, artistic and impressive as she skillfully mixes materials and incorporates layers with art, colour, and a variety of textures to meet her client’s goals.
